ContentKeeper® Technologies has announced the launch of ContentKeeper® Mail
(CK-Mail), a brand new Software as a Service (SaaS) email security solution for
enterprises.
The solution isolates spam, viruses and other malicious email content in-the-cloud
and delivers a clean feed to the enterprise, ensuring that only clean emails
enter the network.
Features include zero-hour virus protection against new and known viruses,
anti-spam and anti-phishing controls, content and image filtering, encryption,
archiving and guaranteed business continuity.
CK-Mail is a unique new approach to email security says David Wigley, Managing
Director of ContentKeeper®. It recognises and isolates malicious email traffic in
the cloud, before it even reaches your network. This can result in bandwidth
savings often in excess of 30%, as well as significantly reducing effort spent
getting rid of unwanted email content.
As the solution resides outside the company network, provided as a service, it
requires no additional hardware purchase.
We expect it to be very popular with large enterprises, government departments,
and other mission-critical organizations, says Mr. Wigley. The main appeal lies
in keeping malicious code at bay in-the-cloud. This will reduce the strain on IT
executives and allow them to attend to other security tasks more effectively.
CK-Mail is now available for trial and purchase.

Australian web filtering company Content Keeper has claimed it is in a plum
position to work with ISPs if the new government’s plan for ISP-level filtering
goes ahead. CommsDay spoke with CEO Geoff Wood, who said that the scheme could be
implemented quickly and easily, depending on the depth of proposed legislation.
Our product is one of the only ones that does it in a very large environment...
we’re really plum in regards to position for exactly this kind of capability,
said Wood. It depends on the depth of the Labor policy, meaning is it going to be
as simple as the ACMA blacklist? All the ISP’s could implement that within weeks
without a lot of heartache.
Content Keeper is a Canberra-based ICT security company, and has implemented its
hardwarebased filtering product in up to 80% of Federal government organisations.
It has established distribution channels throughout Europe and is now pushing into
Asian and Indian markets for growth.
We’re certainly being welcomed with open arms in that region, Wood said. He
claims that 50% of its business is currently in Australia, but its surging Indian
and south-east Asia business may tilt the balance in the near future. . We’re
looking this year at just sort of 100% growth, which is absolutely phenomenal, but
we happen to be the right type of company at the right place at the right time.

ContentKeeper is able to block Instant Messenger and P2P file transfer.
September 27, 2007
The rapid growth of the Internet has expanded opportunities to a point previously
unimagined - business is conducted from all around the world. Companies need to
employ many modes of data communication in order to compete and deal with business
partners, clients and customers. Data communication is carried out by means of
Instant Messaging, Peer-to-Peer file transfers/sharing.
Instant messaging software and other ‘chat’ type programs are incredibly powerful
tools and offer organizations a competitive advantage of timely delivery of
information. Organizations must be seen as keeping up with the times, therefore
participation in this new means of communication is essential. Simply blocking
employees’ use could result in blocking potential sales. However the threat of
data leakage is immediate and serious.
ContentKeeper has the solution.
ContentKeeper monitors Instant Messenger, Skpye and similar chat protocols, as
well as P2P file sharing programs and uniquely provides the capability to block IM
file or video transfers. This means that files cannot get in or out of your
organization while still allowing users of Instant Messaging to communicate
(chat). This gives the ContentKeeper Unified Threat Management solution a massive
lead relative to the other solutions offered.
Blocking file transfer through chat programs and P2P applications aids in securing
your organization’s resources in several ways:
- Firstly; data leakage is reportedly the leading IT threat, therefore blocking
and monitoring uploads/downloads this popular form of communication mitigates
risk;
- Secondly; creators of Malware and Spyware with malicious intent are using
vulnerable P2P as the bridge or entry point to your organization’s network. A
popular IM tool was recently forced to send out an alert regarding a worm
infection in its software. This worm infiltrated several firms’ networks, causing
a major security breach.
The risks that companies can face due to P2P/instant messaging usage includes
legal, security risks and infrastructure risks. Research indicates that 45 per
cent of the executable files downloaded through Kazaa (a popular P2P application)
contains malicious code like viruses and Trojan horses . Such viruses and worms
also widen the risk of sharing private files, unintentionally, with others over
the Internet leading to the issue of data leakage. In addition to this,
organizations can also face risks to infrastructure in terms of increased
bandwidth due to increased sharing of large files (movies, software, music, etc)
over P2P networks.
Filtering or at the very least monitoring Chat programs and other P2P applications
is a major advancement in the technology of our solution. No other solution can
provide you with the continued efficiency of Instant Messenger applications as a
means of communication, while blocking the malware/spyware coming in, and blocking
your firms valuable data from getting out. Can your business afford such risks?
ContentKeeper’s Unified Threat Management solution is your best defence to ward of
risks associated with P2P/Chat and is focused on providing the right solution for
your company.
ContentKeeper has raised the bar in IT security again!

SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) provide the means to
encrypt data on secure communication channels. Financial institutions and large
organizations relied on the SSL (and TLS) to keep sensitive data safe. But,
hackers have developed techniques to look inside the SSL connections and decipher
information, thereby exposing data to people with malicious intent.
ContentKeeper Technologies has jumped ahead of the competition by engineering an
innovative technological solution to address this serious security issue. Our
solution has significantly improved the way SSL traffic is monitored and filtered.
Apart from using a 'trusted' list where users can access specific and trusted
websites and checking authenticity of websites, ContentKeeper also offers a unique
solution of 'deep packet inspection'. Using this world leading technology, we
disassemble SSL packets, run a thorough anti-virus package, use industry leading
web and content filtering and reassemble the SSL packets ready to be delivered to
the user. This technology offers the flexibility to employees and employers by
offering no trade-off between security and efficiency.
E-commerce is on the verge of exponential growth. However, trust of consumers and
clients are imperative to realize the potential of online businesses, else it can
slip easily from the precipice it finds itself on now. ContentKeeper Technologies
with its advanced solutions and tools will help you stay ahead of the competition
while ensuring privacy and security of individuals and organizations.
